Paul Shala National MLM Trainer
Paul Shala National Trainer My Story
Have you ever seen the movie "Joe Versus The Volcano?"
It's the story of a dull and drab man going to work in a dull and drab factory along with a few thousand other dull a drab unfortunates. I remember Joe's office, dingy and grey with a flickering fluorescent light sucking the life out of him. Yet, that's not really who Joe was. Joe longed for light and bright colors - for life.
That was my story. I was Joe.
I remember those days, driving to work in the cold darkness, fighting for a parking spot with the other 5,482 cars in the massive parking lot, trudging up to the building with all the other zombies, trying to rush in without breaking our necks, each of us swiping our cards to get in through the security door at two minutes to seven, racing for the elevator to get to the 5th floor and clock in before being marked 'tardy.' Then, spending the day having every move logged, watched, analyzed and compared.
With Joe, it took him becoming convinced that he was about to die from some strange 'brain fog' for him to make a change and start living life. For me, it was the discovery that I could run my own business from my own home and have control over my own life.
Don't wait for 'brain fog' to set in before making a change. Do it now. Take control of your life.
I did it. And, if I can do it, anybody can do it. I mean, I'm no genius or guru. I'm just me. It's just a mater of a bit of determination and following the proven business plan that I did.
I look forward to showing you how!

R.E.T.A.I.N. - Keys to Distributor Retention
R.E.T.A.I.N. - Keys to Distributor Retention
Dr. Jim Morris
Monday, Mar 24, 2003
Yesterday, Michael was going to be debt free. He just knew that this opportunity was the right vehicle, and now was the right time. Today, Michael sits at his desk starng out the window, frustrated and depressed. Today, the dream seems so impossible. "Maybe," he thought, "I just got caught up in the hype; I will never get out of this rut, and really make something of myself." Tomorrow, Michael will either join the ranks of wishful thinkers, or he will shake off the dream demons, and start fresh at making his dream a reality.
Much of the decision will have to do with his inner resolve and the retaining wall built by his new company. There are six key areas that a company or upline can strengthen to ensure that new Associates find the resolve to continue their quest for success. These six areas can be identified with the word, R.E.T.A.I.N.: Relationship, Empowerment, Training, Affiliation, Inspiration, and Nurturing.
Relationship - Building a deep commitment based on need fulfillment. Relationship begins when two people connect based on mutual need fulfillment. The relationship deepens as the connection is reinforced by people being there for each other. It is imperative that we realize that relationships only deepen with continual connections as simple as just keeping in touch by making a personal phone call. When things get tough or discouragement sets in, without this vital relationship, people often just give up.
Empowerment - Providing the right tools and a system for success.Dreams rarely come true without the proper tools and a success system. You don't hire someone to build a skyscraper and then give him a pick and shovel. Tools and systems must match the dream--the greater the dream, the more important the tools and system. Tools and a system are the vehicles for success. One of the reasons so many people give up and quit is they are trying to build dreams with sandcastle tools.
Training - Insuring this vital component is woven into the fabric of success. The key to any success is the training available to build resolve and skills to reach the dream. Training must be a vital part of any system, getting you to the top, and keeping you there.
Affiliation - Making sure the new associate feels he belongs. One of man's deepest drives is to be a part of something where he feels significant and appreciated. This need for intimate community is one of the greatest bonding factors known to man. People are willing to make greater sacrifices to succeed when they have the power of community driving them.
Inspiration/motivation - Keeping the dream alive. We all run out of fuel during the week and need a strong dose of inspiration to pick us up and get us going again. Inspiration rekindles the fire, and refocuses back to the original dream. The inspiration can come from a meeting or a simple dinner with a few folks who share their dreams.
Nurturing - Providing support and encouragement.Nurturing is being there for someone on a continual basis. Nurturing is the process of providing the essentials for growth without waiting for someone to ask you. Parents don't wait until a child comes to them and tells them she is hungry. Rather parents know that part of their responsibility is to make sure their child receives proper nourishment. Nurturing is providing a solid, reliable support system that provides the essentials for success.
Closing the Back Door
Have you ever purchased a product that you knew was the most exciting, most important product you had ever seen--a product you knew you could not live without, only to find it sitting on the shelf, unused, along with a host of other products that you thought you could not live without. The appeal of products wears off soon after they are purchased. Sometimes the products are so useful that people become totally committed to the product. Other times, people question whether or not they need to continue to lay out $30-$50 a month for a product that they are not sure they need. Customer retention requires more than just an initial pitch. It is important to keep before a customer the compelling "why" that led them to invest in the product in the first place.
Once again, using the word R.E.T.A.I.N., lets look at six ways you can insure customer loyalty: Relationship, Education, Trust, Affirmation, Influence, and New Products.
Relationship - Bond with your customer through need fulfillment.A relationship lasts long after the newness or novelty of the product wears off. Those who continue to develop a relationship after a person purchases a product will find a loyalty that no competitor can penetrate.
Education - You must keep their compelling why for purchasing alive. People buy on impulse based on reasoning at that moment. They buy into the product's story. This story must be told and retold in fresh ways to keep a customer loyal to a product. Even the most devoted product evangelists can be lured away by a product that promises the same results but is less expensive or more potent.
Trust - You must be someone the customers can trust on being there when the they need you.To build customer loyalty, you must become a valued resource for customers. When you become their personal consultant by having the answers they need and by keeping your promises, your counsel becomes well worth the few dollars they pay out for product.
Affirmation/Appreciation - You must ensure the customer that you value their relationship. You must make sure they understand that the value is not related to profits. We all have the basic drive to have our needs fulfilled, but we also have a basic drive to be needed.
Influence - Points of contact - You can't influence someone you don't stay in touch with.Something or someone constantly influences people. Every TV commercial and every newspaper ad is designed to influence you in some manner. The media or company with the greatest ability to influence the decisions of its audience wins the market share. It should be obvious that if you do not contact your customers, you lose your influence over them. Every contact is a potential point of influence and should be used wisely.
New products - You keep customers interested in your company by introducing new products. One technique to retain customers is to introduce new or improved products. This gives you an opportunity for another point of contact, and gives the customer one additional reason to stay with your company. Developing a Retention Strategy
Work with the new Associate to cross the $300-$500 income plateau. Make training a priority. Develop a caring organization that makes people feel wanted and needed. Develop need-sensitivity within your organization. Give people a reason to stay with the company or with your organization.Practice relationship cultivation. Find ways to educate the customer: seminars, workshops, emails, and mail outs. Keep in touch. Conduct highly motivational, inspirational events. Discover new products and new reasons to be a part of your company or organization.
The wise business person understands the value of a customer or distributor. The cost of replacing a person is far more costly than retaining those who are already a part of the organization. The priority of retention is second only to recruiting in building a solid, growing residual income. -------------------------------------------------------

Which MLM Opportunity
Which MLM Opportunity?
By Alvin Narsey
So, you have become an MLM Opportunity Seeker and you have made the decision that you want to change your life. Perhaps you have been introduced to an MLM/Network Marketing Opportunity through a family or friend, or even friend of a friend.Amongst the barrage of information available it can be very confusing in evaluating the Best Work At Home MLM opportunity.
There are so many home based MLM Opportunities out there! Choosing which MLM Business is best for you involves a process which cannot be rushed and must be a decision made amidst all the fog of hype and excitement upon which it may (usually!) be presented.
It would take a hundred pages to got through the steps needed to choosing which MLM Home Business Opportunity to be part of, and indeed there are many books already written on the subject, but I will touch on two essential points which I think are essential in choosing which MLM Opportunity to be part of, and funnily enough, they do not depend on the company itself. Don't get me wrong, the MLM company is important, but the most important aspects of choosing an MLM Opportunity is your WHY and WHO you are going to be working with.
Many of the successful people in Network Marketing will tell you that in order to succeed in your MLM Opportunity, you need to have a strong enough WHY.Why do you want to start a MLM business? Every MLM Opportunity is a challenge if you haven't got a driving force, a solid basis on why you are taking this path. If there is no desire, actually, no Burning Desire, that real forward motivation, you will not succeed in your MLM Opportunity.
Why? Well building a network marketing business is a challenge and a journey. Many times in any journey we face obstacles and minor challenges, and it is our ability to manage these obstacles that allow us to reach our destination, our WHY. In Network Marketing it is easy to get discouraged and give up on your MLM opportunity once you have reached a small hurdle. So, think about WHY you want to be involved in MLM.
Is it to spend more time with your kids? To have the freedom to travel all around the world? To be able to play golf when you want to? To not to have to answer to a Boss? Understanding your desires is the first step in evaluating an MLM Opportunity. The second step is to find WHO you will be working with in building your MLM business. MLM is a new business for many of us, a new way of doing things to what we are accustomed to.
Many times the people who have exposed the MLM business Opportunity are themselves just starting out in the business, hence it is essential we find somebody 'upline' who will help us, train us, coach us, MENTOR us to reach our WHY. MLM is about duplication, duplicating the success of some individual who is successful in a particular MLM Opportunity. By learning the steps in which this MENTOR has built their business, we will be able to build our business in the same way.
This has been a brief overview on choosing an MLM Opportunity, and is just a summary on the factors I consider important in helping people determine which MLM Opportunity is right for them. Choosing which MLM Opportunity paradoxically almost has very little to do with what company you choose but in the dreams and desires you possess and the people who must find who will help you achieve your dreams.

Tips To Help You Choose The Right MLM Company
Tips To Help You Choose The Right MLM Company
By Gray Rollins
Not all MLM companies are created equal. As anyone who has worked for more than one MLM will tell you, there are differences between them that make each one unique.
This also means that not every MLM is right for everybody. Think of it as your first summer job. Some of us turned to the fast food industry and worked hard to make a few dollars. Then there were the people who were content mowing a few lawns each week to make the extra money they needed.
Not everyone was cut out to work for a fast food place, just like not everyone would want to mow lawns. The same is true for the many MLM companies in the world today. The products, pay structure, and selling system differ from one to the other. One should take all the factors into consideration before choosing the MLM that is right for you.
There is no sense in rushing the decision, as you do not want to waste a bunch of time with a company that is not the right fit for you.
Moving through the gambit of MLM companies can make your head spin. They seem to offer so much to so many but that does not mean you should work for them. The first thing you should look at is the products you will be selling. The main idea is for you to be comfortable with the product line, so comfortable that you would use the product yourself.
If not, keep looking. Now let's say for the sake of this discussion that the MLM you are looking at sells steaks in all shapes and sizes. This would not be a good MLM for someone who happens to be a vegetarian now would it? Of course not. Someone who does not eat steak is not going to seem credible to potential customers.
The same is true if the products are gender specific. It would be more difficult for a man to try and sell make-up to large groups of women as he would not seem to have any knowledge of make-up from a personal perspective. The pay structure is very important when you are looking at the different MLM companies.
For the most part the MLM is a commission-based structure and pays only when sales are made.
One should be comfortable with this type of pay and know that some weeks may be a little short if sales are slow.
The other issue with pay is when the company issues the checks. The standard for the industry is weekly checks for all commissions earned the previous week. However, for ease of accounting, many companies have gone to the bi-weekly or monthly pay structure.
This can create some tight spots for those that are used to being paid weekly. If you are not completely comfortable with the pay structure then it is best to look for another company. The selling system is the final decision that you have to make. The way the company dictates that the products be sold can have a big effect on whether or not you are a good fit with the company.
If you do not believe in the selling system and would not buy the product if it was pitched to you, then you should not be working for that company. Part of the MLM game is to believe in the products and the system in order to gain success.
